About TL Gross Company
GROSS’S FAMILY HISTORY
The three Gross family boys, Theodore (Ted), Daniel (Dan), and Arthur (Spike) were raised in Danboro, PA, just outside Doylestown.
Ted started the business in the late 1930’s hawking meats and dairy products, door to door. He built a small plant for dressing and selling local chickens that he purchased on the market.
Spike and Dan joined the business in the late 1940’s, and in 1959 Theodore L. Gross, Inc earned USDA certification. In the mid-1980’s, after two decades of business growth, TL Gross pivoted into a food distribution business. We continue to maintain our valued USDA standard and provide expert custom-cut poultry services.
Today, Jim Seigel, Spike’s son-in-law, Richard Smith, Dan’s son-in-law, and Jim Smith, Richard’s son, continue to grow the family business.
